And We're Back...

We had a little mishap with our Laptop. It died. Don bought a HP 2 years ago, with Vista. We have come to despise Vista! Nothing but trouble in our experience...and then the pinnacle moment happened. Don decided to install Quicken and instantly everything stopped working. We took it to the "doctor" and they could not figure out what was wrong either - so....$200+ later we now have our laptop back. They said it might be best to revamp the laptop and install Windows 7 instead of Vista. sounds good to us. We told them everything we had and needed on and they said no problem.....got the computer back. Uhmmm where is Microsoft??

"oh we didn't have those programs"...

Excuse me?? We paid you HOW much?? Where are the basics!? Nothing was on it...it did not even have Solitaire for goodness sake!! .....we are bitter. oh so very bitter. Hopefully this will get resolved soon.

In more positive news:

Since myy last post we have been up to many things. We flew out to Colorado on the 1st. Carter did awesome! It was his first time, and it was a toss up on how well he would handle it. It is 1.5hr drive to the airport, 2 hr wait, 2.5hr flight and 1hr drive to his moms house from Denver. He was a trooper though and did fuss once! Wow, are we blessed or what?? We had a ton of fun and enjoyed our time with family and friends - Carter really enjoyed playing with one of his cousins, Rhett, who is almost a month younger than him. They were so cute. It rained hard 4th of July night, so we did not enjoy the fireworks (that were still being shot off), but no worries - family time was better. We showed our video for the talent/entertainment night and we think everyone really enjoyed it. Most of you have probably already seen it, but if not I will post it after this entry. We had fun making it...
Our flight was for 7pm Monday so we got to DIA (denver airport) at 5...only to find ourselves last in a ginormous line of people checking in. (we fly Frontier) - It took an hour to get to the counter, only to find that our plane was delayed to 8:30, AND it was overbooked - PLUS- we would not know if we could fly until they start boarding...hmmmm this was turning into an interesting "return home adventure" already. We went through security and waited at our gate. The flight then got delayed to 9:35.... They then asked for people to give up there seats (they would get a plane in the morning, hotel accommodation that night and a $400.00 voucher...hmmm, tempting!) We ended up getting a seat - yea!- but the plane was delayed till after 10 and we did not board till 10:30.... AND they gave us tickets NOT sitting next to each other.. boo hiss that! It all worked out though - I asked the guy next to me to be prepared for a screaming, fussy, hysterical, whinny, tantrum boy the whole flight....or...(pointing to Don a few rows up) you could trade seats with my husband. (yes, I said all those words - even though I have a well tempered child and I knew he would not be like that)....he gladly gave up his seat. I don't feel bad for what I did....even though Carter slept the whole way to Nashville and the kids in front of the man we traded seats with screamed the whole flight. Sorry dude.
(this is turning into a long story...)
So to shorten this novel we landed in Nashville at 2am, in which Carter woke up when we descended (probably due to ears popping). I thought he was going to be grumpy but instead he was nothing but smiles and laughing. I think it really helped put the other tired and grouchy passengers in a better mood. Who can be mad when a baby is laughing? No one! We got off, got our things - Frontier gave us all $100 vouchers (wow!! score! That was unexpected and very appreciated - $200 toward next years reunion trip, nice!) got our luggage, found the car -- left the airport a little after 3am (he was still awake and happy!) He feel asleep shortly after we started to drive though, and we got home after 4:30am...whew - long night!
So....for anyone of you still reading this post, I am sorry for the length and here are some pictures to make it all better. :)
